Lamps installed at the world-famous Colva beach as part of the beach beautification plan, are all crumbling and have fallen down.

If a lamp had come crashing down on the beach square a few days ago, just a meter away from a group of visitors, lamps installed on the beach too seemed to have been falling down.

In fact, a lamp that had come down from the lamp pole was spotted floating in the Colva creek.

Locals pointed out that though the government under the centrally-sponsored Colva tourism development plan, had spent crores of rupees on improving the infrastructure, lack of upkeep and maintenance has resulted in a sorry state of affairs.

In fact, one can find many a lamp pole sans the lamp at the Colva beach, only indicating the absence of maintenance of the infrastructure.
