Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) is a Govt. of India Undertaking functioning as a major service provider in the field of warehousing, logistics and containerization. Catering to industrial growth, CWC is totally operating 474 warehouses, serving importers, exporters and every major industrial and agricultural enterprise in the land. In India, CWC has played a stellar role in Container Freight Stations and Inland Container Depots. The facilities available with CWC are comprehensive with specific storage, handling and transport arrangement by efficient equipments and service network. CWC has operated JNPT’s CFS-JNP & BCY-JNP since inception of JNPT for fifteen years (up to December, 2005). CWC is 150-9001:2000, ISO-14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001 certified company. Realizing the potential and importance of movement of cargo by Rail, railway siding facilities have been created at CFS, Kalamboli and CFS, Logistics Park. With this railway facility, the exporters are able to transport their export cargo of bulk commodities like Sugar, Rice, Cotton, Soya bean, Maize etc. directly to the CFS by rail, thereby cutting down the cost of secondary transportation from Railway goods shed to CFS.
CWC has commenced operations of independent Pest Control Operator Providing disinfestations/fumigations of Export/Import cargo and other disinfestations services. Disinfestations of cargo, containers etc. are carried out. Undertaking pest control at Food factory of AIR India which caters to the food requirement in Flights.
With the Railways opening up container train operations for other parties as well, the Corporation has taken pan India license and was the first to operate its container train between its ICD, Loni and JNPT on 04.01.2007 i.e., the day the concession agreement was signed by all operators with the Ministry of Railways.
We are presently operating three trains on Loni & JNPT route. We have handled 98 trains during 2012-13 followed by 99 trains during 2013-14 and 81 trains during 2014-15. During the year 2014-15 we have handled 7088 TEUs through train movement.
The region has been accredited with ISO 9001: 2000, ISO 14001: 2004 & OHSAS 18001: 2007 certification for the CFSs operated in the JN Port area. With the impeccable service and continuous efforts for improvement, CWC is striving to attend total customer delight.
