The Daawat-E-Lazeez at 180 (degrees) Dining, The Radisson Mumbai Goregaon, pulled out all the stops, giving diners a lavish Ramzan feast. Beautiful red chandeliers glowed a welcome at the entrance, as the cheerful manager Aditya escorted us in.

With most tables occupied, and the laughs of children adding to the happy mood, the festival was clearly a hit. No surprises there really, for those of us who would love to indulge in all the delicacies like Malpua, Biryani, Firni, kebabs and more from the bylanes of Mohammad Ali Road, in air-conditioned comfort!

Curated by the chefs at Radisson Mumbai Goregaon, the 10-day fest served up specialities such as Russian chicken cutlets, Tawa mutton, Udta rumali, Salli boti, Rabdi sutar feni, Mutton bhuna roll, Yakhni shorba, Nalli nihari, Zarda Pulao, Keema Baida Roti, Murgh Badami Korma and the all-time favourite Haleem.

Another perennial favourite, Paya Soup made the perfect warm and savoury start to our meal. The servers were at hand to recommend a range of hot starters that could be ordered and served at table—the alu tuk was hot and tangy, while the plateful of Kasturi Kalimiri Tikka, Prawns Lasooni Fry and Tandoori Kukkad also hit the spot.

Live counters lining the dining area offered up a tasty Tawa Pulao, and kebabs, even as the long buffet tables tempted with Mutton Yakni Pulao (superlative), Gosht Haleem (delicious), Kabuli Gosht, Murgh Begum Pasand. A range of Indian vegetarian options were also available but this was a feast clearly partial towards meat-lovers!

Ignoring the range of Western desserts and Bengali mithai, we plumped for the Tawa Halwa, which arrived sizzling and garnished with nuts, falooda prepared at another live counter, along with Sheer Kurma and Umali. Our final wish: maybe a large bolster to loll against till we were able to move!

BTW, the same venue is hosting a lavish Father’s Day brunch today accompanied by a giant screening of the India-Pakistan match at Liquid Lounge. Don’t miss it!
