Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will celebrate their first wedding anniversary on May 19, 2019. The celebration has become double with the royal couple becoming proud parents to a baby boy on May 5. The royal baby is in the seventh line for the throne. Taking the unusual path and stepping away from the royal tradition, the announcement of the royal baby was made on the couple’s official Instagram account. The baby will be called ‘Archie Harrison’. With Harry and Meghan have a penchant for breaking tradition, this is hardly surprising. The few weeks old baby has already made royal history. Let’s have a look at how Archie Harrison has made royal history.
No public appearance right away
Unlike the tradition of making the public appearance of the royal baby immediately after the birth, Archie made his public debut on May 8. For instance, Kate Middleton and Prince William’s son Prince Louis made a public appearance just seven hours after his birth.
His birth was announced on Instagram.
It is the first time when the birth of a royal baby was announced on Instagram. Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis birth were announced on Twitter. Earlier, the royal spokespeople opted to announce any news via an official statement.
First royal baby to live in Frogmore Cottage
Frogmore Cottage was gifted to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle by Queen Elizabeth II after their wedding. Until recently the property was used by estate workers to live, after a massive revamp, the property was converted into a home.
The line of succession
Archie Harrison is in seventh place when it comes to the line of succession. The first six possession is occupied by the royal baby’s grandpa Prince Charles, his uncle Prince William, William’s three children (–Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis) and Prince Harry.
No royal title yet
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have decided not to confer their son with a courtesy title upon birth. As the title of ‘Prince’ will automatically confer to him after his grandfather Prince Charles becomes the king.
