Aamir clarifies that the news of the filmmakers inflating the ticket price is untrue
‘Dhoom 3’ as we know is 2013’s final mega blockbuster and after a number of movies like ‘Chennai Express’, ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ and ‘Krrish 3’ etc, conveniently having a humongous box office collection by reaching the 100 crore club, in fact to the extent even inventing a Rs. 200 crore club; it is obvious that this Aamir Khan starrer that follows the legacy of the ‘Dhoom’ franchises has high expectation attached at the box office. Well let’s just say that the filmmakers can be relieved with the response as the film so far has collected Rs. 107.61 crore in its first weekend which indeed is a record breaker entering the 100 crore club in just a weekend. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh quoted it as “All time record!”.
Actor Uday Chopra who has appeared in the previous parts of the film, even though post taking a sabbatical from acting, couldn’t say no to the film and is now reaping the fruits of his hard work. With the success and holiday spirit in the air, Uday shared his happiness on a micro-blogging site, saying “It looks like a Dhoom-ing kind of Christmas.” Even though it was being said that the filmmakers of the movie prior to its release had hiked up the prices of the tickets to inflate the box-office collections however Aamir Khan clarified, saying “there is no truth to this. It’s in the same range of ‘Chennai Express’. This is also for the first time release in IMAX so the price has been increased only in these four screens of IMAX. It’s exactly the same cost at rest of the theatres. So I request you all to clarify the misinformation.”
Indeed this year has been a ‘Dhoom’ year for box-office ending with this bang!
