Filmmaker Yash Chopra, who recently turned 80, was hospitalised after he felt weak but he is fine now, a spokesperson for the hospital said on Sunday. Dr Suhir Dagaonkar, spokesperson of Lilavati Hospital said: “Yes, he is admitted at Lilavati Hospital.”

A hospital source said Chopra was hospitalised on Saturday afternoon after he felt weak. “He is fine now and is expected to be discharged in a day or two,” the source said.

The veteran filmmaker has been busy shooting the film ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’, probably his last as a director. The film is slated for a Diwali release and will see Shah Rukh Khan romancing Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif. “On Friday, Chopra attended a party. He felt uneasy the next day, so he was hospitalised. There is nothing serious. He will be discharged soon,” said the source.

Later came the official statement from the Yash Raj stable which read, “Mr Yash Chopra was admitted to hospital after being diagnosed with an attack of dengue. He has been kept under observation. He is feeling much better and should be home soon.”

Chopra is known for making hits like ‘Daag’, ‘Deewar’, ‘Chandni’ and ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’.   —IANS
