Money can’t buy you everything; some things are priceless. Move over ‘Sabya Bride’, time to go treasure hunting in your mom’s closet! Instead, of investing in an expensive designer wedding trousseau (or hiring one and turning the wedding into a promotion gig), Yami Gautam opted for a family heirloom on her big day.
The Kaabil actor, who recently got married to director Aditya Dhar, took the saath pheras wearing her mother’s 33-year-old sari, and a dupatta, which was a gift from her maternal grandmother.
Keeping it all in the family, Yami opted to wear jewellery that was passed down from generation to generation in her family. The nose ring that Yami wore, a traditional Himachali nath, was again a gift from her maternal grandmother.
Not wanting to overcrowd the wedding given the pandemic situation, Yami preferred to do her own makeup, and enlisted her sister, Surilie's, help to style her hair. In a classic red sari and traditional Indian jewellery, Yami made for a beautiful bride on her wedding day.
