Mrunal Thakur, the heroine of ‘Love Sonia’ and one of the protagonists of ‘Kumkum Bhagya’, prefers to spend time with the family at her Powai home on the weekends. She is not a party animal albeit she likes to hang out with her friends on their special occasions. But she turns Cinderella at 1 am. She gushes, “In the coming weekend I am travelling to London because Love Sonia is releasing is in UK. And I am really looking forward to it.”

Monday tripping
If I am not working on a Monday then I like to plan out a holiday on the weekends with my family, somewhere close to Mumbai. I like going for road trips where my sister is in charge of the stay and I am in charge of other things. All of us divide our responsibilities. We travel to nearby destinations on weekends. The last trip we made was to Silvassa. We have lots of relatives in Mumbai so we go visit them on weekends. Sometimes my parents like going to Alibaug and Vasai fort. When I was a teenager I would make a trip to Ajanta Ellora caves in Aurangabad or Muktidham in Nasik so I would really look forward to our weekends.

Time for fries

Even if I am on a diet, I indulge on a Sunday. I relish French fries with tomato ketchup and the mutton pulao that my mom makes.

Can’t say TGIF
Well, I wish I could say thank God it’s Friday, The weekend concept does not work in India because we shoot on weekends too. I really yearn for a holiday. I feel the Monday blues only if I have not rested on Sunday night.

The trick is in the TRX
A friend holds sessions of TRX workouts every Saturday so I like going for that if I have missed them during the week as I thoroughly enjoy the TRX workouts. They are a great way of unwinding. If it’s not cold I enjoy a swim.

Okra at the farm

Weekends during childhood were so much fun. When I was in the sixth or seventh grade we would go to my dad’s friends farmhouse. The in-house cook would make excellent bhartha and bhakri which is a speciality of Jalgaon. We would pluck okra (ladyfinger) from the fields and wander through cauliflower farms. I have memories of some great weekends during my childhood.

Od-ing on Mirzapur

Most of the time weekend means movies, holidays and spending time with my family at my Powai house. I would rather be alone on my weekends as that’s the only time I get to be with myself, understand myself and groom myself. I like watching a film on Netflix or Amazon, as we like watching films together. I like to relax at home and spending time with my 14-year-old brother. I have begun enjoying to read since 2018. The last book I read was Becoming written by Michelle Obama. It was very inspiring. I binge watch a lot of stuff on Netflix and Amazon; I watched the Mirzapur series in just two days.

Beauty sleep

If I have done a night shoot then I just rest it out. I love to catch up on my sleep on weekends. I sleep a lot; if I had my way I would sleep for 24 hours!
