There’s a huge possibility that the makers of Sonam Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To Aisa Laga got the gist of Rajkumar Hirani‘s sexual misconduct allegations beforehand due to which they played it safe and dropped his name from the credits as co-producer in their new poster. For those uninitiated, news of Rajkumar Hirani being accused of sexual misconduct surfaced on the internet on Sunday, January 13.
Ironically the makers who were till now carrying Rajkumar Hirani’s name along with Vidhu Vinod Chopra as Producers in their posters surprisingly removed the 3 Idiots director’s name from the producer credit in the one which they released on January 11, just two days before the news of Hirani being accused of sexual harassment started surfacing the internet.
This drops a major hint that the makers already came to know before anyone else and hence decided to play it safe. Let us tell you that it’s not the first time that makers of the films are sidelining themselves from the people whose names have been embroiled in the MeToo movement. Earlier too actors like Nana Patekar and director Sajid Khan who were accused of alleged sexual misconduct have been shown the exit door from their respective films.
Talking about Rajkumar Hirani, he has been accused of sexual assault by a woman who worked with him as an assistant on his 2018 film Sanju. Hirani has denied the allegations, terming them “false” and aimed at destroying his reputation.
