Mumbai: Having starred in action and romantic genre films, actor Tiger Shroff says he now wants to shift gears and try his hand at doing a musical.

The 26-year-old actor says he is keen to star in film on the lines of popular Hollywood movies like “High School Musical” and “Grease”.

“I want do a musical now. I don’t mean musicals what they think of it as now but I want to do more like a ‘High School Musical’, or a ‘Grease’…I love music, I love dancing, and without music how do I dance. So that should be interesting,” Tiger told PTI in an interview.

The actor, who made his debut with “Heropanti” in 2014, has struck gold at the box office with his latest outing, “Baaghi”.

The Sabbir Khan-directed action-drama has not only netted solid collections but has also brought in praise for  Tiger and Shraddha Kapoor. The actor says his father, Jackie Shroff and the entire family is proud of him.

“There are many good reactions I got for my role, I cannot pin point anyone in particular. My father, my family are very proud of me. I am just glad all the hard work the team had put in has been appreciated.”

The actor keeps a tab on all the reviews and feels sometimes people are unfair to a commercial film.

“People tend to put down commercial films a lot. It is a typical masala film which is there to entertain and serve the masses. People have to understand that. If you are coming in with your thinking caps and with something unorthodox then you are obviously going to run down a film.”

“But, I also read the reviews quite a bit, I take everything to my heart to work better. I love to read what they say. I don’t get offended.”

In “Baaghi”, Tiger was seen doing Kalaripayattu, a martial art form and indulged in many intense action scenes.  The actor says a lot was at stake considering this was his second film and feels there is pressure to deliver at the box office as much as it is to win audience’s hearts.

“Sure there is a pressure. There is so much competition these days and box office is just a measure of our success and that’s what matters so much. I don’t follow box office but I have just started it after ‘Baaghi’. I am still new. But the love and appreciation of the audience is paramount,” he adds.
