The #MeToo momentum is on the verge of exposing many faces from the Bollywood industry. It all started from actress Tanushree Dutta alleging Nana Patekar of misbehaving with her on the sets of Horn Ok Pleassss. While Tanushree and Nana’s controversy has now become a legal matter, a lot of women are now sharing their #Metoo stories on the social networking sites exposing the cruelty of Bollywood.
In wake of the controversies, last year’s case of Vikas Bahl also came in the limelight once again. For those uninitiated, Vikas was accused of molestation by a female employee of Phantom Films. Back then, when Vikas was a part of Phantom, which has now been dissolved, denied all the allegations and stated that although he knows the woman in question since a long time, she never showed any sign of discomfort while they were together.
And now if sources are to be believed, Vikas who was earlier supposed to direct a web series for Amazon has now been show the exit door. A source told Mid-Day, “The project is being produced by Monozygotic Solutions, which is owned by Raghu Ram and Rajiv Lakshman of Roadies fame. The show was a reboot of an Australian series that revolves around couples spicing up their sex lives. It was scheduled to roll by year-end. But with the latest controversy, Amazon wouldn’t be comfortable backing it with Vikas on board. The production house has discussed the matter with Amazon, and will soon start scouting for another director.”
The lady while talking to Huffington Post, talked about the incident. The woman stated that how everyone in Phantom knew about this but still chose to keep mum on the whole matter.
What came as a shock, that even Anurag Kashyap who was partners with Vikas in Phantom, has now accepted that he knew about this unfortunate incident as the women did told Anurag about how Vikas molested her. The Manmarziyan director in his defense, said that at that time as he was suffering from a bad phase owing to the failure of Bombay Velvet he didn’t payed much heed to the woman’s ordeal. On top of that Kangana’s recent confession of Vikas misbehaving with him, has caged all doors of escape for the Queen Director.
While Amazon has decided to sack Vikas, we wonder what will the makers of Film Super 30 which is being directed by Vikas will do. It is being rumored that once the film is complete Vikas will be asked to dissociate himself from the film.
