After facing backlash for allegedly mocking their domestic worker and her language in one of their vlogs, actress Sambhavna Seth and her husband Avinash Dwivedi have issued an apology.
On June 16, Sambhavna had posted a video on her YouTube channel in which she can be seen speaking to her domestic help, who happens to speak an Indigenous language. However, the actress and her husband make fun of her language.
The video was also shared by an Instagram page for the Adivasi community with a long caption calling out the couple for their act.
After receiving the comments from the viewers about being hurt, Sambhavna and Avinash pulled down the video and extended an apology to the entire community.
In the video posted b y the couple two days back on Instagram, the actress and her husband said, "We have realised that the language used in that video belonged to the Adivasi community from Jharkhand whose sentiments have been hurt because of our act. Our intention was just to make people laugh through our humorous video. It wasn't our intention to demean anyone or any community. We don't have a script, so, in the flow, we tend to speak inappropriate words and go wrong. We would want to apologise to all our subscribers, to the Adivasi and the non-Adivasi community because even we were hurt after reading the comments by the viewers."
Adding further, Sambhavna said, "We didn't realise that we made a mistake until people commented on Instagram and tagged us. We have taken down that video because we would never want to hurt any community. Our only intention is to spread love. We assure you we will never hurt any community here or anywhere in the world. If at all again, we make a mistake, please let us know because it's important to know our mistakes."
Sambhavna, who has appeared in many Bhojpuri films, currently runs her own YouTube channel by the name Sambhavna Seth Entertainment. She often treats her fans a sneak peek into her personal life and shares videos with her husband and her in-laws.
A few weeks back, Sambhavna was in the news when she accused hospital authorities of inefficiency that resulted in her father's demise.
She had sent a legal notice to Delhi's Jaipur Golden Hospital, where her father was admitted after he tested positive for COVID-19.
The former 'Bigg Boss' contestant had blamed the hospital authorities for 'medically murdering' her father.
