'They are okay with bikini pics, but...': Shikha Singh on being trolled for posting topless photo

Popular television actress Shikha Singh, best known for playing Aaliya in 'Kumkum Bhagya', was recently criticised for posting a topless picture that were labelled as 'nude'.

She had been at the receiving end of online hate and criticism after the actress shared a picture on Instagram in which she can be seen lying on a bed holding a pillow which has been strategically placed to hide her modesty. She's seen wearing a red lipstick in the picture.

"Theme of the night was 'Red'," she wrote in the caption.

She uploaded this photo days after sharing a picture of herself breastfeeding her baby.

The actress has now responded to the trolls and clarified that they were not nude pictures and she was only breastfeeding her one-year-old baby.

During an interaction with ETimes, Shikha said that she doesn't care about the comments and views of people and she wants to normalise breastfeeding.

Shikha said that she does not understand why people have a problem with that picture adding that they are okay with bikini pictures but when she posts a topless or breastfeeding pic, then there is so much drama.

Shikha further stated that initially, she was upset as people posted 'weird' things. Talking about one of the comments on her post where a user asked how his husband could allow her to post such stuff, the actress said that it was her husband who clicked that picture.

The actress added that she read a few more comments and thought people will always have an opinion and as an actor, she should be mentally prepared for such things.

On the other hand, several celebrities, including Ankita Bhargava and Ekta Kaul, lauded her for doing her bit in 'normalising' breastfeeding in public.

Shikha and her pilot husband Karan Shah welcomed their first child in June, 2020. They have named their daughter Alayna Singh Shah.

Shikha often shares photos and videos with her baby, updating her fans about her personal life. She even shared pictures from Alayna's first birthday.
