Actress Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya, who recently completed the shoot of 'Khatron Ke Khiladi 11' and returned to Mumbai, was rumoured to be playing the role of Dayaben in the popular sitcom 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.'
A few media reports had suggested that the makers of the show had approached Divyanka but she turned it down.
Now, in a recent interaction with ETimes, the actress has quashed the rumours calling it 'baseless' and 'non-factual.'
She confirmed that there was no offer from the 'Taarak Mehta' team.
Divyanka further called it a fabulous show with a great fan following. However, she said that she is not keen on doing it. The actress said that she is looking for a fresh concept and new challenge.
Dayaben's role was originally portrayed by popular actress Disha Vakani. While Disha took a hiatus from the show in 2017, the makers have continued to dodge the question on her return and have also managed to continue the series without her character being shown onscreen.
Starring Dilip Joshi, Shailesh Lodha, Sunayana Fozdar, Munmun Dutta, Mandar Chandwadkar, Amit Bhatt and Sonalika Joshi among others, it is one of the longest-running episodic shows. The story revolves around the lives of a family living in Gokuldham Society, where they co-exist with families of different backgrounds and cultures.
Meanwhile, the 'Yeh Hai Mohabbatein' actress has flooded her social media with her photos and videos from Cape Town.
After she landed in Mumbai, Divyanka shared a photo of a cake and personalised message arranged and sent by her husband Vivek.
