On Sunday, the actress made her comeback on social media by sharing a series of pictures clicked at Marine Drive in Mumbai.

This has come just a day before Ankita’s former boyfriend and late actor Sushant Singh Rajput's first death anniversary.

While Ankita had not elaborated the reasons behind her decision to take a step back from social media, many fans had drawn a connection to the one-year anniversary of Sushant Singh Rajput's death.

One user in the comments section noted that Ankita's announcement had come 'exactly a year' after Sushant shared his last post on Instagram.

On June 1, Ankita had posted a story on Instagram and wrote 'June' with a broken heart emoji.

The actress had also shared several old videos and pictures from her TV show Pavitra Rishta as it clocked 12 years recently. The videos also featured lead actor Sushant.

In fact, Sushant and Ankita had first met on the sets of Pavitra Rishta and fell in love. Soon after they started dating. They dated for six long years before calling it quits in 2016.

Sushant was found dead in his apartment in Mumbai on June 14, 2020. Early investigations by the Mumbai Police concluded that he had died by suicide. The CBI had taken over his case on the instruction of the Supreme on August 19.

Along with the CBI, ED and NCB teams are currently investigating the case.
