Tanishaa Mukerji faces racism in New York during her visit; calls it traumatic experience

Kajol’s sister Tanishaa Mukerji has claimed that she has faced racism in New York earlier this week. Tanishaa was in US to attend CRY America charity gala event and after that she went to restaurant with her friends and there a man made racist remarks.

“I don’t understand what triggered it as I was polite, but he turned rude. One of the employees, an African-American, said that we looked as if we were fresh off the boat and couldn’t speak English. That was insulting and blatantly racist. My friends and I were shocked. It’s traumatic to experience this kind of racism in the US; I have never faced it earlier,” she told Mid-Day.

Soon after that Tanishaa approached hotel staff about the incident but there was no response from them “I told them to call the cops, but they refused to do so,” she said.

The actress also took to Twitter, to write about her experience. She wrote, “Racist horrible people.”

Tanishaa was seen in Ram Gopal Varma’s Sarkar and was also a part of an earlier season of Bigg Boss. She was a contestant on reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi two years ago.
