Actresses who are not from the film industry are often criticized for having their mothers on the sets. The over protective mother stereotype that we see in televisions and movies are apparently taken from real life instances wherein the mother of the actress actually threw more starry tantrums than the star herself, but the ‘Baby ke liye juice lao’ syndrome will never stand true for ‘Baby’ heroine, Taapsee Pannu. The girl has never really tagged her mother around least of all shown any tantrums ever!
“The thing is when I got offered to do films in south india, being a Delhi girl I knew I would have to shift base to Hyderabad and pursue my career there, but uprooting my family for the gamble was not really something I could have done, they all have their own lives, their own needs and their own set up, why would I have dragged them into that unsure business of cinema, which I myself didn’t know how it would be turning out,” quipped the actress, who is currently the biggest star down south and is also letting her presence be known in Bollywood.
“If I am going outdoors and it is a place I know my mother would like to see, I will ask her if she would like to come along, that’s all. They are so away from the whole film set up that they cannot possibly understand this whole waiting hours for your makeup and then doing a dance number, repeating your steps again and again, till the director is satisfied, it doesn’t make any sense at all to them and that’s why they prefer not to come on the sets and see me work, they get thoroughly life bored and since I am in midst of work, I cannot help much with keeping them entertained,” laughed Taapsee.
