Hrithik Roshan's upcoming film Super 30 has been finally cleared for a release. The film has been in headlines for quite sometime over the clashes and its director being named in the MeToo movement. Now, a report in Mid-Day suggests that Guwahati High Court has asked Anand Kumar via a notice to respond to a PIL filed by students, Avinash Baro, Bikash Das, Monjit Doley and Dhaniram Taw of IIT Guwahati against him.
The report further states that Anand Kumar failed to reply to the notice and this has caused the students to seek a stay on the release of the film. According to the tabloid, Amit Goyal, legal counsel of the 4 students mentioned that the teaser sends out a wrong message in public and that Anand Kumar is celebrated as a hero. The report further adds that "(The film) seems inauthentic. We never sought to damage the film, but [Kumar] has a court case against him. His reply (to the PIL) doesn't (address) the allegations completely."
In the reports, students have claimed that Anand Kumar’s idea of getting students into IITs were false and that they were only a means to get more students to enlist in his Super 30 batch. However, when any student wanted admission in the batch, he was redirected to take admission in Ramanujan School of Mathematics (Anand Kumar's Institute) where a fee of Rs 33,000 was charged.
The film was earlier to release on July 26, 2019. But due to a clash with Ekta Kapoor’s film Mental Hai Kya, Hrithik decided to prepone his film. Now, Super 30 is slated to release on July 12, 2019.
