Sunny Leone has been accepted in Bollywood with open arms with a lot of offers coming her way. After her item number in ‘Shootout in Wadala’, she took a short break and is back with her film ‘Jackpot’.
When asked how it feels being back in the game post her short break, she says, “I haven’t had this in a while now and I think I almost forgot how crazy it was. But I’m happy that we are starting the promotions of ‘Jackpot’ full-fledged and it’s going to get crazier and busier.”
Sharing the story of how ‘Jackpot’ happened, she reveals, “I knew Sachin Joshi from the time we have been associated with the XXX drink. We were at dinner and he asked me for the role. He sent me the script and I just loved it. I didn’t put the script down until I finished and then the next morning I woke up and said yes to him.”
About how she chooses her films, she reveals, “I actually don’t take anyone’s suggestion. If I don’t believe in the film, I don’t want to make it. For me it’s all about the script of the film or the people I am working with. I don’t really have a great experience working with people and I don’t want people telling me what to do. As I do what I want but when it comes to scripts, I choose the scripts and my husband does the business and makes all of it happen.”
Even though after this acceptance when asked if she wanted to change her image, she says “I don’t think it’s about changing my image on any level as I just can’t change who I am. Nor am I on the mission to change who I am, and having said that, ‘Jackpot’ I like because of the story and this story is a little more performance oriented like ‘Jism 2’. So, for me it was more about highlighting a talent that might be there and people might appreciate. I love acting and the idea of becoming something I’m not. I don’t mind looking more bolder as obviously I’m doing ‘Ragni MMS 2’.”
When asked about her character, she said, “I don’t mind being a negative character who is manipulative. And she’s not this typical girl who is nice and pure. Maya is a woman who plays both sides of the fence. She has an alliance with the boss and an alliance with Sachin’s character and in the movie you don’t really know who she is really with or who she is really working for or what her real motives are. Whether she wants all the money to herself or whether she is really in love with Sachin’s character or is with the boss. I facilitate these small things that go on, I’m part of every little idea that goes on so that’s my character.”
Coming so far in Bollywood, she owes it to luck and hard work and says, “I definitely think that my journey has little bit of luck, fate and a lot of hard work. I have been working a lot harder, I hope people enjoy the film and appreciate it.”
Presently she will be seen in three films, which are ‘Jackpot’, ‘Ragini MMS 2’ and ‘Tina and Lolo’, and Sunny without a doubt is quite happy about it as she says, “Three films in a row! Well this was something that I didn’t expect to happen. These are choices made by producers and by me. ‘Jackpot’ is coming now, ‘Ragini MMS 2’ is after that and then comes ‘Tina and Lolo’ later next year so yeah that’s nice.”
She also wants to scare the audiences with her upcoming ‘Ragini MMS 2’ and says, “It’s a horror movie and I’m just hoping and praying that I give people one nightmare for one night and people get scared. When you are making a horror movie your mission is to scare people so I hope I achieve that.”
Further talking about her action character in ‘Tina and Lolo’, she adds, “Doing action is definitely a challenge but I love the idea of flying over cars. The fight master is very careful with Karishma and me and he makes sure that we are always safe. I got hurt in my ribs, I couldn’t breathe but then that all is fine and we are shooting again. It’s amazing to be this woman who just kicks butts. It’s about these two sexy women in sexy avatar just punching and hitting.”
‘Jackpot’ starring Sunny Leone, Sachiin J Joshi and Naseeruddin Shah releases on December 13, 2013.
