It’s known that superstar Shah Rukh Khan and choreographer-director Farah Khan have been friends for a very long time in the Bollywood industry. And now, after working under his friend Farah’s direction in films including ‘Main Hoon Na’, ‘Om Shanti Om’ and the latest ‘Happy New Year’, looks like the superstar is all praise for his good friend. So much that in a recent media interaction, SRK said that it requires guts and intelligence to prove yourself in a male-dominated world, which Farah has succeeded in!
“Farah has a lot of self-confidence, which is amazing. Whenever I think that I will direct a film, I find myself lacking the self-confidence. Also, unlike her, I don’t have the clarity… I genuinely think every world has a male-dominated area. It requires intelligence and guts to be in a man’s world and say it like it is. Farah exudes power. I think women are respected here, but the kind of respect she garners, is quite amazing,” SRK said.
When asked about his other friends in the industry, King Khan said that he has several friends in the film industry, but sadly he doesn’t get ample time to spend with them. Shah Rukh said, “I’m working at most times. You get to make friends during the time you are working. I have not worked with Karan (Johar) for the last two years, so I have not spent time with him. With Farah, I’m working from the last one and a half years, but before that, for two years, I didn’t spend time with her.”
SRK’s much-awaited film with Farah Khan, ‘Happy New Year’, also featuring Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood and Vivaan Shah is set to release on October 24.
