It was rumoured that Sonam Kapoor’s next film ‘Dolly Ki Doli’, which would release early next year, is a remake of the original film titled R.S.V.P. That’s because after watching the promo of the Arbaaz Khan production, some of the viewers felt that the tale of a runaway con-bride was similar to the part that Neeru Bajwa had played in the film R.S.V.P. which was released in 2013. But putting all rumours to rest, news is that Ved Prakash, writer of R.S.V.P. has now come out in the open putting an end to all such speculations.
Clarifying the issue, Ved said in a recent interview, “The entire Khan family is so cultured. Writing runs in their blood. Salim (Khan) saab has been a pioneer when it comes to original writing. Whenever there is any issue faced by the writers, he always takes a stand with them. I can’t fathom why Arbaaz bhai or anyone else from their family would ever lift a film. On the basis of what I have seen so far and the conversations that I had with Arbaaz bhai, both films are not similar. I have no reason to believe otherwise.”
Meanwhile, it’s noted that in the film R.S.V.P., Neeru Bajwa dupes her groom (played by Harish Verma) but has a gradual change of heart, when her groom hunts for her and brings her back into the family. Whereas in Arbaaz’s film, Sonam Kapoor is shown as a serial con girl who takes Rajkummar Rao, Varun Sharma and Pulkit Samrat for a royal ride.
