In 2015, when Bhushan Kumar organized ‘Suron Ke Rang’ where the entire Hindi film and music industry came together to pay tribute to his father, the music legend Gulshan Kumar, he had got the very talented composer Jeet Gangulii to compose a special song for his father.

The song titled ‘Mere Papa’ was performed live by his sister Tulsi Kumar at the event and it moved everyone to tears. Such was the impact of the song, that Bhushan decided to make it into a music video. The video will feature both his sisters Tulsi and Khushali and is a beautiful emotional song that will touch the hearts of any child who loves their father. ‘Mere Papa’ has been sung by Tulsi Kumar herself with lyrics written by the extremely talented Manoj Muntashir.

The biggest celebrity father-daughter duo of Anil Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor will be launching this video today in Mumbai. Coincidentally while Anil has known Gulshan Kumar for many years and shared a deep relationship with him while Tulsi, Khushali and Sonam went to the same school together and have many anecdotes together.

Telling us about this video Tulsi said, ‘’I was my papa’s favourite and most pampered child. When I went to the studio to record the song I got extremely emotional and just couldn’t hold myself. But I guess it was my father and his blessings that gave me the strength to record this song so beautifully.

Ever since the song was performed at the show, I received a lot of fan mail where everyone showered their love for this song as it struck an emotional chord with all listeners. The biggest compliment came from singer Sonu Nigam (who I really look upto) that this is by far the best rendered song by me and it made him super emotional. My father wanted to see me become a singer and today where I am is because of him. ‘Mere Papa’ is my tribute to him.’’

Adding to Tulsi, Khushali said, When I heard Tulsi rehearsing the song before her performance, I just couldn’t control my emotions This song not only depicts our feelings for our father but also I am sure every child and father will relate to this song. Our father dedicated his life to music and always taught us the language of music. He always used to say that music is such a strong medium to express your feelings which you generally cannot do with even words. Main chaand kahoon.. mujhe chaand mile.. kaise kaise jaadu kare .. Mere Papa”
