Bhumi Pednekar is currently shooting for Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Saand Ki Aankh’ with heavy prosthetics in scorching heat of Uttar Pradesh. The actress is said to be wearing the prosthetic make up for more than eight hours everyday for the shoot. Unfortunately the mix of chemicals like latex and adhesive used for the look had a bad reaction to Bhumi’s skin, leading to heat blisters .

Pednekar had shared a recovering selfie on her social media account and quickly deleted it. The actress however acknowledged the story by re-posting a tweet by DNA with a comment, “I call them battle scars 🙂 My most fulfilling journey so far #saandkiaankh”

However none of the challenges have stopped Bhumi from shooting for the film. A DNA report states Bhumi said, “The only thing that I could do was use aloe vera to cool down my skin and face. I could not apply any medicated skin care products because I didn’t know which one would cause further reactions. As an artiste, this film has creatively pushed me and satisfied me to the fullest. In fact, I’m proudly treating my burns as battle marks from a project that I have given my everything to.’’

Talking about the prosthetics a source revealed to the website, “A mix of chemicals like latex and adhesive was applied on Taapsee and Bhumi’s faces daily to make them appear older. What started as a small rash spread to the latter’s entire face and caused superficial burns,”

Taapsee Paanu and Bhumi will be seen in ‘Saand Ki Aaankh’ as the age old sharpshooters – Chandro Tomar and her sister-in-law Prakashi Tomar. Directed by Tushar Hiranandani, ‘Saand Ki Aankh’ also features Prakash Jha and Vicky Kadian in pivotal roles.
