Shahid Kapoor too choosy about his films and co-actors?

The actor believes that it’s not up to him but the onus lies on the filmmakers to choose who they cast opposite him

Heartthrob Shahid Kapoor has been the talk of the town with his recent releases, ‘Phata Poster Nikla Hero’ and the upcoming ‘R…Rajkumar’. However, there has been a rumour that with the increasing workload Shahid has become choosy and has started rejecting films and leading ladies. Reportedly the actor has refused to do Balaji Productions’ ‘Milan Talkies’ and also the actor has refused to work with Shraddha Kapoor in one of the upcoming films.

When asked Shahid about him being picky, the actor turned defensive saying, “I have never said I am doing this film on the first place. So when I have not said yes to the project where does the question of me saying no, comes from? I have been offered the film but I am yet to decide. Whenever I sign the film we will make a formal announcement.” The actor further clarifies that he would be seen with Shraddha Kapoor as well and adds, “This is not true as I am doing Vishal Bharadwaj’s next film with her.”
The actor believes that it’s not his place to decide his leading lady but the filmmakers’ job, as he says, “I don’t think as an actor it’s our place to choose our co-actors, that’s something that the director or the filmmaker does.”
Talking about his leading lady Sonakshi Sinha, in the upcoming ‘R…Rajkumar’, the actor reveals that Sonakshi is Prabhu Deva’s pet. “I think every actor who is offered a film by Prabhu Deva knows that Sonakshi is going to be the heroine of the film. You don’t even need to ask as by default it would be Sonakshi,” he shares. He further praises the actress saying, “It’s always a pleasure to be working with good actors. I think Sonakshi is a very good actor and we had lot of fun doing this film together.”
‘R…Rajkumar’ starring Shahid Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha and Sonu Sood releases of December 6, 2013.
