Priya Prakash Varrier’s upcoming movie ‘Sridevi Bungalow’ has attracted controversy because of its sensational plot. The recently released trailer of the film shows the actress as a lonely superstar who died in a fashion similar to that of legendary actor Sridevi. So, when Janhvi Kapoor was asked to comment on ‘Sridevi Bungalow’ at an event, she decided to simply walk off.
Even Boney Kapoor has expressed his grief on the film and filed a lawsuit against the makers of the film soon after the trailer hit the internet. He has alleged the filmmaker of cashing in on Sridevi’s death.
Last year, Sridevi passed away in Dubai’s hotel after drowning in a bathtub.
Meanwhile, director Prashant Mambully and lead actress Priya have defended the film. Talking to Republic TV, the director said, “Sridevi has brought pride to all Indians, even I myself is a huge fan of her. I have received the legal notice which says we can’t use the name ‘Sridevi’. Since Sridevi is a common name it should not be a problem. However, we are ready to face all the legal issues.”
