TV is a lucrative business and our big screen stars can never get enough of it. After effectively hosting four seasons of the reality show ‘Bigg Boss’ on the small screen, Salman Khan is set to hit the idiot box again sometime this year as the host of a new show based on social causes.
Sources close to the star say that the actor, who runs an NGO called Being Human and is constantly involved with charity work, is thrilled to be a part of this show. For those worrying if Salman’s show will clash with his buddy Aamir Khan’s ‘Satyamev Jayate’, word goes that it will be vastly different.
It was in 2012, that Aamir Khan had launched the 14-episode talk show ‘Satyamev Jayate’, which highlighted issues like female foeticide, the evils of dowry and malpractices in medicine.
Clearing the air on his tentative show, Salman revealed at the promotions of JAI Ho, that they are “working on something which is different. It is not along the lines of ‘Satyamev Jayate’. We will have a lot more entertainment in it. We will rock next year!” With Salman at the helm, clearly even social causes get an exciting twist!
The 48-year-old, who had also hosted another reality show ‘Dus Ka Dum’, added: “The show that we are doing will change a lot of things. It’s a brand new show altogether, which will talk about social causes. I will be the host and this will definitely change a lot (of things).”
Currently, Salman is gearing up for the release of ‘Jai Ho’, an action film set for a January 24 release.
