The brothers speak on working relationships and composing music for ‘Dabangg 2’
Brothers Sajid-Wajid are known to compose sexy, peppy and foot taping numbers. For their latest project ‘Dabangg 2’ they are working with Salman Khan and Arbaaz Khan. But the two say there is no interference from the Khan brothers. “We try our best to give them what they look for. We have a store of our own music and while making new music for any producer we try to go in accordance with their demand,” say the brothers.
Talking about Indian cinema music losing its classical touch, they say, “Actually we try to retain the classical touch whenever we are composing a song. We are also good at framing lyrics and if any good lyrics strike our mind, we instantly include it. Work is our pleasure and passion without which we cannot survive.” They add, “We have retained the ‘Hud Hud…’ punch line in the title song for ‘Dabangg 2’ as well.”
Copying from other numbers one of the brothers says, “We do not believe in flicking anything from any song. We believe if we need to bring a difference in any of our numbers we have to work hard and only then will Allah bless us. Working on music is like our life, how can we compromise on that?”
Their working relationship too is very easy going. “We work in sync. We have no ego hassles or any sort of sibling rivalry. So much so that we operate joint bank accounts,” concludes Sajid.
