Actress Shruti Haasan in a recent interview spoke about the online trolling she faced for wearing black lipstick in her Instagram posts and revealed that nasty trolls called her a witch.
In an interview with Pinkvilla, Shruti said that she didn't wear the black lipstick to get a gold star on people's report card of her.
"I did it because I wanted to do it," she added.
Shruti said that she would not hesitate to put on a black lipstick 'if the mood calls for it.'
Speaking about the criticism she received on social media, Haasan said that she loves the 'goth subculture' and the aesthetic as she grew up 'idolising the metal scene'.
"I get comments like what happened to you, you look like ‘chudail’ and I say ok, yeah it's fine... that’s cool because witches are bad so I love that," she said.
The 'D-Day' actress added that she feels it's the greatest compliment because she aspires to be a 'rock and roll witch.'
Meanwhile, on the work front, Shruti was recently seen in Venu Sriram’s Vakeel Saab. The movie, a remake of Bollywood hit Pink, stars Shruti opposite Pawan Kalyan. She will soon be seen sharing screen space with Baahubali star Prabhas in a film titled Salaar.
Shruti stepped into Bollywood with the 2009 film Luck. The actress has also been a part of films such as Welcome Back, Ramaiya Vastavaiya, Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji and D-Day among others.
