‘Massive icons should be very careful’: Actress Kasthuri questions Rajinikanth flying to the US for routine check-up amid travel ban

Last month it was reported that south superstar Rajinikanth left for the US for a routine medical check-up.

The matinee idol's office in a statement said that the actor has completed the shooting of his high budget movie "Annaatthe" in Hyderabad.

Rajnikanth, who was all set to join politics had activated the Rajni Fans club "Rajini Makkal Mandram", across the state during 2020 and was to announce his political entry.

However, after some health ailments, and on expert medical advice, the he opted out of the race.

Rajinikanth had undergone a kidney replacement surgery in the US four years ago.

Earlier this week, lyricist Vairamuthu shared that the actor sounded 'confident and healthy' on the call. He said that this health update is dedicated to all the fans and followers of the senior actor who prayed for his well-being.

Several recent pictures of Rajinikanth have gone viral on social media platforms.

Meanwhile, actress Kasthuri took to Twitter and reacted to the Thalaiva's travel to the States amid travel restrictions in India, due to the pandemic.

She also demanded a clarification from the actor's end on the same.

Kasthrui wrote, "Rules don’t apply for Rajinikanth’. That is a terrible thing to say. If anything, such massive icons should be very careful to come across as law-abiding citizens. Many saying Rajini may have gotten medical exemption from GOI- that is even more worrisome. What is his health condition that the best hospitals in India cannot treat? Did they say routine check? Mayo Clinic is known for cardiac care. The more I think about it, the worse it sounds."

Not to mention, the actress faced backlash from Rajinikanth's fans who trolled her brutally.

On Tuesday, Kasthuri shared a subsequent tweet and said that she has been informed about the actor's health satisfactorily. However, Rajinikanth's spokesperson reportedly said that the superstar nor the family members have given clarification to anyone.

The superstar is expected to return to Chennai in two weeks.

Before leaving for the US, the 'Shivaji' actor received his second dose of the coronavirus vaccine in Chennai.

On the work front, Rajinikanth was last seen in AR Murugadoss's 'Darbar', which released in theatres in 2020. He is presently busy with director Siruthai Siva's 'Annaatthe'.
