If rumours going around the internet are true, we might see Deepika Padukone playing the role of Ranveer Singh‘s wife in cricketer Kapil Dev’s biopic ’83’ where Ranveer plays the titular role. The actress is currently in talks with the makers of ’83’ for the role of Romi Bhatia, wife of Kapil Dev.
According to a source in Deccan Chronicle, “Deepika’s role requires just seven days of shooting. The filmmakers believe the part where Romi Bhatia left the stadium mid-way assuming that West Indies will win the 1983 World Cup final, and the difficulties she encountered in coming back into the stadium when India was on the verge of winning, can be well emoted by Deepika.”
If Dippy gives her nod to this project, it will be first time post marriage that Ranveer and Deepika will star in a film together that too as husband and wife. In a recent interview Ranveer has also stated how he would love to work and romance his real life wife Deepika on screen and guess what Ranveer’s wish might come true.
Talking about ’83’, the film is a biopic on former cricketer Kapil Dev and is being helmed by director Kabir Singh. It will mainly focus on India’s first world cup victory which took place in the year 1983. While Ranveer plays Kapil Dev in the film, the search for rest of the cast is still on. Ranveer will even start acing his bowling skills to get into the skin of Kapil Dev.
