Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor, who are extremely fond of each other, will be seen together in their forthcoming film, GUNDAY which is up for release this Valentine’s day. While the trailers of the film look fantastic and both the lads look their parts completely, this crazy duo apparently wanted to do each other’s roles initially! Ranveer plays Bikram who is slightly held-back, like an angry young man and Arjun plays Bala – flamboyant, boisterous and outspoken.
When these boys were given a joint narration by the director of the film, Ali Abbas Zafar this is not exactly what the boys had in mind. While Ranveer wanted to play Bala, Arjun wanted to play Bikram as they could relate better to the characteristics of these characters. But the director’s vision is what matters and Ali wanted them to play the completely opposite characters of what they actually are off screen.
“It was obvious that both Ranveer and Arjun would want to do roles that were closest to their own personalities. We had to convince them to do the opposite roles,” said Ali.
GUNDAY is to be a story of two inseparable friends who happen to go from being small time coal thieves to the most powerful black marketing mafia men. The narrative is based in the city of Kolkata in the unsettled period of the ’70s.
It is always delightful to see Arjun and Ranveer together as they share a crackling chemistry, evidence of which was there to see on ‘Koffee With Karan’. Let’s see how they fare, romancing Priyanka Chopra in this YRF flick.
