Priya Prakash Varrier who became the national crush overnight after her wink act from the film Oru Adaar Love went viral, revealed that she was literally under house arrest for few days.
Recalling the time when her popularity was like a raging fire courtesy her wink, Priya in an interview with Indian Express said, “We were trying to handle it together. Because everything was new to me as well as my family. It is true that I was not given cell phones or anything. For a few days I was under house arrest and I was not allowed to go out because my parents were tensed. The media people would turn up at my door without even informing.”
The actress further added, “I ended up coming back from my college and giving them interviews in my college uniform. I had to do that! People just turned up at my door and asked, ‘Is this Priya Varrier’s house? Can we just see her? Can we meet her?’ My dad would make up some story like ‘she is not here’, ‘she is in the hostel’, something like that.”
Priya will be seen in Malayalam romantic comedy Oru Adaar Love which is all set to release on the Valentine’s eve. Recently a kissing scene of Priya from the same film went viral for which the actress was heavily trolled.
Apart from Oru Adaar Love, Priya will soon make her Bollywood debut with film called Sridevi Bungalow which is directed by Prasanth Mampully. The teaser of Sridevi Bungalow received lot of flak as it looks nothing less than a distasteful attempt at recreating the tragic death of the late actress Sridevi.
