Rumours has it, the duo is all set to head their separate ways after 17 years of marriage.
2016 has definitely not been kind to Bollywood couples – so far at least. B-town had just gotten over Farhan and Adhuna Akhtar’s divorce, Ranbir, Katrina’s separation when another spilt jolted the film industry. It is reported that Bollywood’s ‘Power Couple’, Arbaaz Khan (popularly known as Salman Khan’s brother) and Chaiyya Chaiyya girl Malaika Arora Khan have decided to part ways after being together for 17 years. Reason? It’s man, instead of a woman who has come between them.
Gossip mill has been churning and it is believed that Malaika has been dating a business tycoon in UK. On Friday, another story surface when one entertainment portal linked Arjun Kapoor and Malaika yet again. Arjun Kapoor and Malaika have been linked in the past as well. The first rumour came out in 2013 and later 2014. Though both Arjun and Malaika had squashed the rumours with the former saying that Salman would have killed him if there was any truth in it.
But apparently Arjun and Malaika’s friendship didn’t go down well with hubby Arbaaz. Why? Because post the famous AIB Roast (where the Kapoor lad had made fun of Salman’s little sis Arpita), the rapport between Salman and Arjun was not what it was before (but it had drastically changed between Arjun and Malaika). Now it is left to be seen whether this growing (ahem) “friendship” is the reason for the spilt or the UK businessman or something else (a stunt to boost the TRP of their show perhaps?).
Adding fuel to the fire is the report that suggests Mrs Khan having moved out of their Bandra home and shifted to a place in khar along with their 14 year old son Arhaan. Also it is said that during the shooting of Power Couple, both Arbaaz and Malaika have been staying in separate rooms. Off-late, Malaika is not seen and the show and Arbaaz is shouldering it all alone.
Though there has been no official statement (till this went to print) from either Arbaaz or Malaika, the latter’s manager has been quoted by a leading daily as saying that the couple is very much in love and has no intention of divorcing. We wonder why the separate rooms then? Malaika was also absent at Arpita’s baby shower held in Dubai recently – further goes on the show that all is not well in the lovers’ paradise.
This is not the first time that the rumours of Arbaaz and Maliaka divorcing have surfaced. Way back in 2008, it was reported that the two are divorcing and Arbaaz will be remarrying again. It turned out to be a gimmick for the launch of a skin care product. During the launch event, Arbaaz remarried Malaika with the latter saying it was concept-related.
We wonder what it is this time. Only time will tell!
