Pizza to salad: Sara Ali Khan opens up about her weight loss journey and staying fit

Sara Ali Khan is a modern-day heroine. The actress can go from girl-next-door image to bringing oomph factor in no time. While the actress hustles hard towards her fitness, it wasn’t always like that for her. Sara Ali Khan had revealed that she was very heavy during her teenage days and she has PCOD (Polycystic Ovarian Disease) due to which it was difficult for her to lose weight.

Recently, while speaking to Vogue India, Sara Ali Khan opened up about her weight loss journey and staying fit. The actress weighed 96kgs during her college days but she made up her mind to work hard towards her transformation. “For me, it all started in New York. I weighed 96kg and had a year to go before I graduated. The transition from pizza to salad and from lethargy to cardio is how I kick started my fitness journey. I simply started eating healthy and began working out when in New York. There were so many different types of classes in that city, from functional training to boxing to cycling. But because I was so overweight at the start, [my routine] was more about cardio-heavy workouts like walking, cycling and hitting the treadmill—so that I could lose the weight before entering the intermediate forms of exercise,” she said.

Sara Ali Khan, meanwhile, is one of the finest newbies of Bollywood after starring in two back-to-back films. She made her debut in Kedarnath followed by Simmba. The actress is now looking forward to Love Aaj Kal 2 and Coolie No 1.
