The mosquitoes have struck again – the lithe and lovely Lisa Haydon has been afflicted with dengue and has had to give her ‘The Shaukeens’ promotions a miss! Get well soon, gal!
In other news about the hot Lisa, the actress has issues with being called just that – hot! The model turned actress declares, “I don’t want to be termed as ‘hot’. It was getting offensive after a point. Who wants to be hot,” she laughed.
The appropriate answer would be: ‘Everyone!’ but to get back to the point Ms. Haydon seeks to make, “Before ‘Queen’, people perceived me as a model. I worked very hard to prove myself as a good actor. I needed the right opportunity and now I feel people have started taking me seriously as an actress and have started paying attention to my talent.”
‘Queen’ has been something of a mixed blessing, though. Post her role as the independent, fun-loving and modern Vijayalakshmi, who hits it off famously with Kangana’s character, Lisa is finding herself offered similar roles! “I’m getting stuck with the bohemian, free-spirit image!” she complains, adding that it is definitely an improvement on ‘hot’, but that she doesn’t want to get stuck with any image.
However, going by the look of her character in ‘The Shaukeens’ and the premise of the film itself, isn’t hotness part of the deal in the film? “In my opinion, my ‘The Shaukeens’ character Ahana is not hot. Vijayalakshmi (from ‘Queen’) is hotter than Ahana though she does not do anything to be hot – she burps, she snores, and has an ‘I don’t give a damn’ attitude which appeals to people. Ahana, on the other hand, is a very innocent and naive girl.” …Innocent and naive… Two adjectives that so do not leap to the mind when you think Lisa Haydon!
Speaking of Annu Kapoor, Anupam Kher and Piyush Mishra, the dirty old men, so to speak, Lisa says, “The three men have never met a girl like her and they think she is a streetsmart girl because she is very open about everything. The men think she likes them but for her, they are paternal figures.”
Could indeed be a case of reel life imitating real!
