NOW A FILM TO IMPROVE INDO-PAK RELATIONS

FILMISTAAN  to bridge the  gap between Indo- Pak; filmmakers want to release it in Pak

Sports, arts and culture have long been used as tools for improving relations between India and Pakistan. And following this suit is director Nitin Kakkar whose 2013 National award-winning film FILMISTAAN incidentally revolves around the story of Sunny, an aspiring actor and Bollywood devotee, who finds himself detained in Pakistan. The FILMISTAAN makers are keen to have the film released across the border and so are talking with some Pakistani distributors regarding it.

An insider close to production reveals, “They are using this opportunity, when India and Pakistan’s relation is the highlight in the news, to ensure the smooth release of their film. They have contacted a few distributors for the same.”

When debutant director Nitin Kakkar was asked about it he confirmed the news saying, “We are really looking forward to releasing the film in Pakistan. We are showing it to some distributors over there and we wish to send out a message of love and brotherhood through the movie.”
