Singer, VJ, actress Sophie Choudhry is a multi-talented personality but in a recent interview the sexy lady revealed that people and audience took a long time to accept this fact!
On being asked about why it’s taken so long for her to establish herself as an actress, Sophie candidly shared, “I think I came into showbiz at a time when the industry looked at artists as one dimensional. People here couldn’t accept the fact that a person can be multi-talented and have different facets to him or herself. When I was working for ‘Pyaar Ke Side Effects’, I heard comments like ‘Ye toh already VJ hai, phir movies mein kyun hai?’ I can’t understand why it is so difficult for people to accept that fact. Even Mr. Bachchan is multi-dimensional; he is an actor, a host and even a singer.”
Thanking ‘Vicky Donor’-fame actor Ayushmann for bringing in a refreshing change in the film industry, the actress further said, “But I am glad things are changing. Thanks to VJs like Ayushmann who are doing amazing job as actors, the industry is becoming more receptive. When people ask me what I prefer, singing, VJing or acting, I get furious. I am an entertainer, why do I have to choose between anything.
“The other reason my acting career hasn’t taken off is because of stalled projects. Sanjay Gupta’s movie that would have proved me as an actress, Alibaug, where I share screen space with Sanjay Dutt, Sanjay Suri and Dia Mirza never got completed,” she said.
