Finally the countdown is over and the most awaited fashionable event Met Gala 2019 has begun. The star-studded event is witnessing celebrities looking their stylish best at the red carpet.
The Grammy-winning rapper Cardi B hit the red carpet at the fashion event, held Monday night at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. For this year’s event, themed “Camp: Notes on Fashion,” Cardi wore an extravagant ruby red gown featuring a larger-than-life skirt, feathered shoulders and a beaded cap.
Lady Gaga wasn’t the only one who pulled off a dramatic Met Gala arrival. American actor and singer Billy Porter too pulled off the most dramatic red carpet look ever! Porter stole the show at this year’s mega event when he entered draped in gold and was carried on a velvet litter by six shirtless men wearing shiny gold pants and headpieces.
Porter sported a spectacular custom “Sun God” ensemble by The Blonds which included a bejewelled catsuit outfitted with 10-foot wings and a 24-karat gold headpiece. He completed his look with wearing custom gold glitter ‘Atlanta’ boots by Giuseppe Zanotti, reported People.
Making her way through the star-studded red carpet of Met Gala in a gorgeous pink outfit was Hailey Bieber, who walked the red carpet alone without her singer husband Justin Bieber. The 22-year old model looked gorgeous in a pink floor-length sparkly turtleneck gown. The look was very “business in the front, party in the back” as it featured nearly entirely open back and train.
Celine Dion dazzled her way on to the pink carpet and looked marvellous in a glitzy metallic bodysuit. The ‘My Heart Will Go On’ singer stepped out for the annual event on Monday in an Oscar de la Renta metallic bodysuit with fringe-detailing and a plunging neckline, as reported by E-News.
Harry Styles made a style statement during his first Met Gala ever. The 25-year-old singer opted for a sheer Gucci top with just the right amount of ruffle and sleek black lace detailing paired with high-waist pants. And when it came to footwear, he experimented yet again, slipping on a chunky pair of shiny men’s black shoes.
Styles completed his look with a dangling pearl earring, several flashy rings which included a nod to his initials “H” and “S”, hair slicked back as well as teal and black nail polish, as reported by Fox News.
Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez made their debut as a couple at the 2017 Met Gala. So it’s only fitting that the couple used the biggest fashion red carpet for another milestone in their relationship– debuting their engaged status! The pair made heads turn as they arrived hand-in-hand at the event.
The Jenner and Kardashian family also made head turn at the Pink carpet, Kendall stunned in a Cher-inspired bright orange feathered naked dress, while Kylie opted for a lavender feathered naked dress. Kylie also matched her wig to the gown.
This year the theme for the Met Gala is “Camp: Notes on Fashion,” which is inspired by a seminal 1964 essay by Susan Sontag, in which she describes the phenomenon as something that she shouldn’t be talking about: “To talk about Camp is therefore to betray it.” The gala is being held inside New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art.
