Media needs to write about ‘October’ not being nominated: Varun Dhawan on his film getting snubbed at awards

Varun Dhawan recently stated that he is aware that his critically acclaimed film October has been snubbed at all the award nights, and that he wants media to write about it. While speaking to Mid-Day, Varun said, “The press needs to write about the film (not being nominated). Till date, I get at least one message a day for that movie.”

Sharing an incident of how in spite of not getting any awards he is getting his reward for October, “Recently, Jacqueline Fernandez watched the film on a flight and called me to appreciate my performance. That is the royalty I am collecting,” said Varun.

The actor further added, “The award shows have a lot of other criteria [at play]. I am happy to go, perform at these events and get paid for it. I never did October for awards. I did it because the script clicked with me. Awards will come and go. This film will stay.”

Varun will next be seen in the movie Kalank which is all set to release on April 17. Talking about his other projects, Varun has some great films in his kitty such as Street Dancer and Coolie No. 1 remake.
