Malaika Arora has finally let the cat out of the bag. Since the time she and Arbaaz officially divorced each other, tongues were wagging as what could be the reason behind an end to the 19 year old marriage. While the duo refrained to make any comment, Malaika recently at Kareena Kapoor’s radio chat show ‘What women really want’ revealed the reason behind it.
Malaika said, “For me, happiness is most important. Even if it means I have to take such a major decision in life. Me and Arbaaz eventually did think about a lot of things and weighed every single pro and con. And then we decided, it’s better off that we move our separate ways because we’d just be better people. Because we were two people in a situation making each other extremely unhappy which was impacting everybody else’s life around us.”
The actress also recalls the night before she and Arbaaz were going to get divorced, “Nobody really encourages you to go right ahead. Even the night before the divorce, I had my family sit with me and ask me, are you sure? I heard this all along and perhaps rightly so because these are people who worry and care for you,” said Malaika.
The actress also added that how divorced women should not captivate themselves in a cage and should feel free to date if they want to. “It’s not impossible. Swipe left, right, whatever it might be! Have fun! For the first time in your life, you will also discover a kind of freedom. To be in a bed all alone is also a new feeling!”
On personal front, while Arbaaz has made his relationship official with Italian Model, Georgia Andriani, Malaika too is in a steady relationship with Arjun Kapoor. Although both Malaika and Arjun have refrained from accepting their relationship in public, few days ago Arjun was spotted hanging out with Malaika and her son Arhaan which is enough to prove that the duo are serious about each other.
