Filmmaker Ashwin Kumar's animated mythological film Mahavatar Narsimha continues to impress at the box office, completing its first week with a solid total of Rs 44.75 crore (India net). On the seventh day of its release (Thursday, July 31), the film collected an estimated Rs 7.50 crore across all languages, according to early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk.

The film, which opened modestly with Rs 2.29 crore on Day 1, has witnessed consistent growth over the week, driven by positive word-of-mouth and increasing occupancy, especially in the Telugu-speaking regions.

On Day 7, Mahavatar Narsimha recorded an overall 34.71 per cent occupancy in Telugu markets and 21.26 per cent in Hindi markets - a healthy sign for an animated feature.

Industry experts are calling the film a "surprise hit," with its trending being described as "exceptional" through its first week. While the film is expected to benefit from the upcoming weekend, it will face new competition at the box office from Son of Sardaar 2 starring Ajay Devgn and romantic drama Dhadak 2, featuring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri.

Directed by Ashwin and produced by Shilpaa Dhawan, Kushal Desai, and Chaitanya Desai under Kleem Productions, Mahavatar Narsimha is presented by Hombale Films. The film was released in 3D and in five Indian languages on July 25 and is based on the mythological incarnation of Lord Vishnu - Narsimha.

The film has garnered mostly positive reviews from both critics and early viewers, with praise directed towards its animation quality, dramatic treatment, and mythological accuracy.

With strong regional support and growing pan-India interest, all eyes are now on how the film holds up in its second weekend.
