Joyful reads
I loved F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby. I also enjoy reading economic journals and An Actor Prepares by Konstantin Stanislavski. Though the best book I have read till date has to be The Call of the Wild; it’s a short adventure novel by Jack London. The premise of the novel is on this dog called Buck, a domesticated dog who is stolen from his house and sold into service as a sled dog in Alaska. His journey is a survival story, giving you life lessons on leadership and adaptation. He is forced to fight and dominate other dogs. By the end, he sheds his veneer of civilisation and emerges as a leader in the wild. It is a fantastic book and a quick read.
No constraint
According to me, the best part about reading is that there is no hard and fast rule to finish the book in a particular time frame. I can take breaks in between then pick it up again and finish it at leisure. I am not that big a reader, but as and when I am in the mood for it, I pick up a good book to settle with. When I am in the mood mainly or relaxing at home on a lazy day I pick up good reads. When I am shooting or busy working on a project, I am usually busy reading my scripts, rehearsing lines etc., so I prefer taking it easy in different ways on
those days.
Read to learn
I tend to mostly read spiritual and meaningful content, which I can pick up a good understanding from. So yes, I do tend to draw lessons from the stuff that I read, mostly things which stay with me in the long run. I get most of my reading recommendations from Rochelle, my wife, as she loves stocking up on good books. A couple of friends who are avid readers are also always updating me on good reads that I can pick up.
Hardcopy lover
There have been no major changes in books as such over the years. Though there are now a lot of more expansive options in regards with reading like online books and the Kindle, of course, which are now more popular mediums of reading, there is just something different and lovely about reading from hard copy books, which I love!
