He goes on to explain that if it is in someone’s grade to be pompous, it’s fine and one should stick by that. He believes that the more fake you are, the more you will curse yourself as an actor. His philosophy is that as an actor he would like people to see him on screen rather than at parties.
An actor’s job primarily is to know to act. Period. Behaving like a star or imagining that you are god is something he finds utterly ridiculous. So, while he confirms that he has never signed a film just because it offered him a lot of money, he shrugs that he has no complaints either vis a vis his career in the Hindi film industry. His journey, he likens to life, with its attendant ups and downs, a journey that has been wholesome in that sense and worth it. Eventually, what else matters?
