While Salman Khan hasn’t stopped talking about Priyanka walking out of his film, Katrina Kaif has decided to take the high road and stay out of it. In an interview with Mirror Online, the actress said it is not about who was offered the film first or second. She is happy she was able to play Kumud in Bharat.
Days before the Salman Khan starrer went on floors, Priyanka Chopra had stepped away from the film. While no one batted an eye at the time, now that the film’s promotions are taking place Salman Khan hasn’t stopped to talking about how embarrassing it was for him.
However Katrina Kaif took over the role as Kumud, and she is very much happy with the result, during an interaction she recalled learning about the movie while shooting for Tiger Zinda Hai. She also said that Priyanka had her own reasons for not doing Bharat, and feels it was her destiny to do it.
“I am unaware of who was selected before me for Bharat. Ali Abbas had spoken to me regarding the script and role of Bharat when I was shooting Tiger Zinda Hai with Salman Khan,” she said.
Katrina added, “Everyone has a different perspective of looking at things. I cannot be in every Salman Khan film. If Priyanka was chosen for this role then she had her own reasons for not doing it. Doing Bharat was written in my destiny and I am happy it came to me. When I read the script I simply loved it and I think this is the best role of mine so far.”
The actress also said it isn’t about anyone’s ego. “The question of being the first or second choice doesn’t seem to be relevant to me at all. It’s also not about anyone’s ego,” she said.
