Karan Johar, who made his directorial debut with Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in 1998, recently completed 25 years in the film industry as a filmmaker. He has directed movies like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, My Name Is Khan, and Student of the Year, among others.
Recently, in an interview with Pinkvilla, Karan Johar revealed that he would want Ranveer Singh to play the lead in his biopic if it were ever made. “Ranveer Singh does a great imitation of myself, and I have seen that on the sets of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Even on Koffee with Karan, he mimicked everyone to perfection. He can transform into anything.”
Meanwhile, Koffee With Karan season 8 will have its grand premiere on October 26, 2023. The first guests to appear on the show will be Ranveer Singh and Deepike Padukone. Talking about the same, Johar said that he asked the Band Baaja Baaraat actor to imitate again this season; however, he refused to do so.
Karan continued, "Ranveer said, ‘You don’t do something twice. We have done it. It’s been received with a lot of love. I don’t want to do it again’."
“Ranveer is a chameleon. He can transform into anything. If at all my biopic is made, I’d always root for Ranveer Singh," concluded Karan.
Recently, Karan worked with Ranveer in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, which also starred Alia Bhatt in the lead. Released in July, it was declared a hit at the box office.
