The politician cum lyricist shares about his twin journey

Kapil Sibal’s poetic inspirations in Bollywood

Politician Kapil Sibal came into the limelight when he turned lyricist in film ‘Bandook’. Later on he turned almost professional by reciting poems in the beginning and the end of recently released film ‘Delhi Gang’ directed by Ashish Tyagi. It is based on segregated and lonely senior citizens, who get neglected by their own children settled abroad. The film is inspired from many real incidents in our nation.

In an earlier interview, he had said, “If somebody wants to express his feelings and responsibilities towards society, then I think Bollywood is the strongest medium.”
Our sources reveal that he is all set to do another film with director Ashish Tyagi in which he might write the lyrics of the songs too. “Well! We are busy with the collections of ‘Delhi Gang’, which has been received well at the box office in the northern sector. Yes, I have a ready script and I will make sure that Kapil Sibal ji will also pen down something for us. However, he has promised to do so. We will do the needful once we are set to start the film,” confirms director Ashish. And Kapil says, “My poems will be part of few Bollywood films. But it is too early to disclose anything. Once the films begin, I shall be able to talk about them at a later stage.”
From ‘Bandook’, the journey of Kapil Sibal in the Hindi film industry has highlighted his taste for meaningful cinema. Let’s hope the talented minister invests his poetic talent in our films wisely.
