Keeping tabs of her contemporaries’ career moves is so blah – at least for the quirky Kangana Ranaut. The actress never stops surprising us with her diverse interests. She will soon be travelling to the US to shoot for Hansal Mehta’s Simran, and plans to spend her off days there driving around the countryside exploring the local sights – and she plans on doing the driving herself!
For a Hindi film heroine, who generally never ventures out minus her entourage comprising driver, security, make-up and hair persons and spot boys, that is radical indeed! Just as we were digesting the fact that Kangana has applied for an international driving license for the same, we have to contend with news that she will enroll for a course in organic farming in Solan, Himachal Pradesh!
This will help her create her orchard in her hometown Manali and engage with the experts who will work on her farm. The orchard comes on the heels of the traditional house she is building there according to the Kath-Khuni architecture style of the mountainous state of Himachal Pradesh. The house, keeping the topography and climate in mind, is being built using native original materials like wood and stone along with bricks.
A couple of years ago, she had even enrolled for a course in screenplay writing at the prestigious New York Film Academy. Between dabbling in cooking different dishes, being a regular yoga fiend, acing the style stakes and invariably leaving her rivals miles behind in the acting department, it’s all in a day’s work for a sensation called Ms. Ranaut.
