Buzz is that noted lyricist Javed Akhtar, whose last work as a screenwriter was for son Farhan Akhtar’s directorial venture ‘Don’ in 2006, is planning to get back to writing screenplays. What’s more, we also came to know that the Javed may collaborate with composer-filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj on his next film too!
Revealing about the developments, a source said, “Javed Akhtar after a fairly long gap is coming back to scriptwriting. He has done a couple of scripts. And they will be announced soon. He is not collaborating with Farhan or Zoya for their movies. He may do a film with Vishal Bhardwaj.”
It’s noted that Akhtar and Salim Khan formed an impressive scriptwriting duo in the ’70s and early ’80s. in fact some of Akhtar’s most successful work was with Salim between 1971 to 1982 which included Hindi movies like ‘Zanjeer’, ‘Deewar’, ‘Sholay’, ‘Haathi Mere Saathi’, ‘Seeta Aur Geeta’ and ‘Trishul’.
