India is celebrating its 72nd Independence Day today and on this special occasion, Indians have to make this day memorable by being patriotic towards our ‘Bharat Mata’. After all, India is one of the fastest developing countries in the world as it is aiming towards becoming the largest economy in the world. One of the prominent and veteran actresses of Bollywood, Raakhee Gulzar was born on August 15, 1947 which is exactly the same date when India got independent from the British rule. Raakhee has worked in many Bollywood as well as regional films. However, her memorable role in the film starring Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, Karan-Arjun will always be remembered. Raakhee married lyricist, Gulzar from whom she has a daughter and Meghna Gulzar, who recently directed ‘Raazi’. Raakhee is now separated from Gulzar and lives with Meghna.
Big film release
August 15, 1975, became a landmark day and year for Indian Cinema. The cult classic and all-time blockbuster of Bollywood, Sholay was released on this day. Starring Dharmendra, Sanjeev Kumar, Hema Malini, Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan and Amjad Khan. Sholay was indeed a landmark film which defined the cinematic experience of Indian audiences.
