Recently, reports of Harleen Sethi being heartbroken post her breakup with Uri actor Vicky Kaushal have been doing rounds in the media. In an interaction with Hindustan Times, the actress who was in the limelight for dating Kaushal, says there’s no truth to these rumours.

Although Sethi is yet to make her Bollywood debut, she has made place in the audience’s hearts with her web series Broken But Beautiful. Following the news of their allegedly relationship hitting rock bottom, and her being in a bad shape, Harleen states, “Well, do I sound like I am in a bad state?” Harleen asks, addressing the rumours. “This is exactly why I don’t like reading about me. I don’t know where they get the information from and what their sources are. And people who don’t know you, start believing things. Only people who know you are aware of what you are going through and that there’s no truth in it.”

The actress adds that these reports led to frantic calls from people enquiring of her mental state. “I got messages from people enquiring about my state, and people asking me if I was in a state of depression. I told them, ‘I am just fine and I am not dying, so chill’,” said Harleen.

With all the attention on her personal life rather than professional indeed affects her family in her negative way. “They were affected by all the stories. My family does not belong to the film industry and when these articles came out, they felt bad,” she said.

Taking this ahead, but in a positive way and moving on in life with her head held high, Harleen penned down a poem at the insistence of her brother. She shares, “He told me that I was not just somebody’s ex [girlfriend] or somebody’s current. I’m here because of my own hard work and talent. And if people think you are depressed, please tell them that you are not.”

“I feel that you should have a very strong support system, especially when you belong to an industry that is so cutthroat. Career, paisa, gaadi… all these are temporary, but relationships with people are what helps you pull through the tough times,” she concluded.
